Milani "Tropical Fiesta" Nail Lacquer

Hi Nesters!

I first blogged about this fabulous nail color in April of last year. I'm wearing it again now and I love it so much (it's such a cheerful happy color) that I want to share it with you again (just in case you missed my original post or you don't go back through archives). So here it is!

********************************************

(orig. post 4/25/2009)

I purchased this "Tropical Fiesta" Milani Nail Laquer at Walgreens. It's the first time I've ever used this brand and I must say I'm very impressed. It really only needed one coat to give full opaque coverage but I did two just for the wearability factor. It was very shiny on its own but I used a quick-dry clear top coat just because that's what I always do to protect the color. Upon application, the polish spread very well; almost like it was "self-leveling." And I absolutely loooove this color. It's not really pink and not really red -- it's somewhere in between. A perfect summer "go to" color.

NOTD: OPI Black Cherry Chutney/Wet n Wild Glitz

I did this experimental NOTD a few weeks ago. It turned out so well that I decided to share it with you here. I did it on my daughter's toes first and she told me all her friends at school loved it and wanted me to do their toes as well. I don't know if "rock star" acrylic toes (various glitters mixed with acrylic and applied over toenails) are popular where you live, but they are here in California. This look makes a really good dupe for a rock star pedicure at a fraction of the price.

Step by Step:

  • 1 coat OPI Black Cherry Chutney
  • 1 coat Glitz Wet n Wild Craze glitter polish
  • 1 coat Jordana quick shine 60 second topcoat (love!!!)

This polish is seriously packed with glitter. This is just one coat.

TOTD (toes of the day): Aromaleigh Cricket & Clear Polish...

I've never worn green polish before. Cricket* is such a cheerful color, I decided to give my first try at mixing mineral pigments with clear nail polish. I topped it off with an NYC clear polish that has iridescent blue sparkles in it. DH wasn't feelin' it, but I feel very sassy in this polish.

* Cricket is a mineral eyeshadow from Aromaleigh's limited edition L'Orchidee collection (April 2009).
