FOTD: Aromaleigh "Darcelle 101"

I've been gradually making my way through the Aromaleigh Le Mysteres (click here to learn more about the Le Mysteres). Today, I used #101. I've had a sample of it for a couple of weeks now but just haven't tried it because it looked sort of "average" in the baggie. Last night, I swatched it on the back of my hand and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, its a "mid-toned taupe green frost," but it's so much more than that. I see highlights of gold and pink in there too! It's subtle but beautiful. I believe the different nuances of this color would be picked up depending on what other color(s) you paired it with. You should definitely try a sample, they're only $1.

• le mystere #101 - A beautiful mid-toned taupe green frost with a myriad of colors deep within the base... just look a little closer and you'll see the gorgeous shimmers!
• darcelle - Deep mysterious olivine with brilliant turquoise shimmer.

• drama queen green - A mysterious, smokey, sateen, bejeweled emerald with vivid sparks of brilliant green drama.

FOTD: Aromaleigh "Pandora 105"

I've seen so many pretty purple FOTD's lately on the Aromaleigh Mineral Cosmetics forum that it inspired me to break out my purple eyeshadow and do one of my own. Pandora was one of my original favorites when I first started using Aromaleigh. This the first time I've used le mystere #105. It has such a pretty highlight, I might have to purchase a full size.

Aromaleigh Makeup Challenge Week 53: "Summer Fruits and Veggies"

This week's Aromaleigh makeup challenge is to do a look inspired by summer fruits and veggies.

A pineapple was the inspiration for my eyes, an apricot for my cheeks, and a mango for my lips. It was a loose interpretation but you get the idea.

Nature on my front porch!

On several occasions over the past week or so, when my DH enters/leaves through the front door, a bird flies away very close and in a panic (lots of loud fluttering wing sounds). It happens so fast and so close to him, he can't tell where it's coming from (he's usually busy flailing his arms to keep the creature from "getting him"). Today, I went out to check the mail and it happened to me so I decided to investigate. I found some sticks poking out of the top of a faux flower arrangement near our front door. So I grabbed Cameron (5 y/o) and lifted him up to see if he could see any eggs...


We've never has "visitors" to this arrangment before because I just put it out about a month ago.

This photos is for perspective so you can get an idea of how large the arrangment is and where it's located in relation to the front door.

I stood on my tippy toes and held the camera high over my head to get this shot.

We agreed as a family that we were not going to touch or disturb the nest or its occupants. We're happy to have new birds at our "nest."

TOTD: Milani "Tropical Fiesta"...

I purchased this "Tropical Fiesta" Milani Nail Laquer at Walgreens. It's the first time I've ever used this brand and I must say I'm very impressed. It really only needed one coat to give full opaque coverage but I did two just for the wearability factor. It was very shiny on its own but I used a quick-dry clear top coat just because that's what I always do to protect the color. Upon application, the polish spread very well; almost like it was "self-leveling." And I absolutely loooove this color. It's not really pink and not really red -- it's somewhere in between. A perfect summer "go to" color.

FOTD: "Golden Shimmer"

I've never used these colors together in this combination before. I liked the way it turned out so I had to share. I hope you like it too.

FOTD: Aromaleigh "Pinks"

This week's Aromaleigh weekly makeup challenge is "pink." When I first started using Aromaleigh about a year ago, pink was the first color I branched out to after being a beige/brown girl for most of my adult life. I wore it A LOT and got a little burned out. So I decided to try new Aromaleigh colors and took a hiatus from pink for a while. This week's challenge perked up my interested in pink again. I realize now that I've really missed my pinks.
